Hi thanks for visiting my blog. My name is Christian Peeters and I have been working as a product manager in the mobile domain for about 6 years. Although my profession lies in product management I like to discover the different aspects of Mobile Development.
In my spare time I like to hobby as an amateur Mobile Developer. I have experience with Java for Android and Lua for the Corona SDK framework.
I started to learn Android development by studying Java syntax, but I found the existing Tutorials on the web most useful, as a result I would like to return the favor and share my learnings and experiences with you. Hopefully they will help you in your programming. Besides Java and the Android SDK I like to dive into the Corona SDK as well. Together Corona SDK and Lua provides a powerful platform to develop 2D games. So you find both examples of Android as well as Corona SDK on my blog.
I write about my Mobile Development practices in the hope other people might find it interesting or useful. Please be aware that I write this while learning so errors, inefficient code might be part of my posts. Feel free to copy and use all the code you find on this website.
I can admit I had a steep learning-curve to master the (basics) of Java. I have shared in this post some of the steps I took to learn Java (for Android).
You will find a wide range of app samples on my blog, but two of them I have published in the Google Play store.
The Debugger app for UAT I have developed from a small frustration of capturing internal feedback during one of the apps I made as a product manager. We often required time-stamps, screenshots, and device info to reproduce the issue or trace the log files. This apps helped during the user acceptance test to capture bugs. The shopper app is an app to calculate price information based on % discounts. This app is very nice when your are a beginner in Android development. Click here for the tutorial
